Co-Op Interest List
We are gathering interest for our Forest & Farm Co-Op and upcoming events, and would love to learn more about your family as we shape this next season together.

Why
Volunteer?
Becoming a Village Volunteer means more than lending a hand
it means joining a community. You’ll:
3 Paths
Mentors
Mentors support children during co-op gatherings, helping them feel safe, seen, and inspired as they explore the farm and forest.
Monday to Thursday, 9 AM – 1 PM
Tuesday & Thursday, 2:30 PM – 6 PM
Farm Hands
Caring for the land, tending the garden, and helping with special projects. Perfect for those who love being outdoors, hands-on work, and shaping our space.
Flexible opportunities — there’s always work to be done on the farm.
Pollinators
Spread the word, support events, and help families feel welcome. If you love community, connection, and bringing people together — this role is for you.
Flexible time — usually Friday or weekend events.
All volunteers serving in direct contact roles with children are required to complete a background check prior to participation.
Schedule and
Commitment
Village Volunteers can choose the path (or paths!) that best fit their schedule and interests. Opportunities include:
Join us in tending the garden and caring for the land—a hands-on way to connect with nature and support our shared space each week.
Come together with other families and volunteers to work on bigger projects that help our community thrive.
Help us celebrate the seasons through joyful events that bring nature, learning, and community to life.
Lend your skills in organization, outreach, or creative projects to support our community and keep things running smoothly.

Located at
Baer Family Farm
Under the trees in Forest City, NC
Our cozy 2-acre food forest and garden is getting a fresh breath of life. Once lovingly tended, it’s now ready for a new chapter after the passing of its previous caretaker. We’re rolling up our sleeves (and probably getting dirt under our nails) with community work parties to clear, prune, and plant. Soon, this space will hum with life again—hosting classes, workshops, and hands-on experiences where everyone can learn, grow, and taste the harvest together.
